What is Mighty Kindness? Who gives a Hoot?
Mighty Kindness www.mightykindness.org is a community unity organization run by a small group of open-hearted visionaries. It all started back in 2008 with the desire of creating a strong circle of sustainability and connection in our community. Our goal was to make it easier to find and support local farms, businesses, healers, artists, community groups who all really have the same vision at heart- kindness. Kindness to ourselves, to each other, to the Earth. Kindness in our leaders, in work, in creating.... Kindness all things.
We started an online resource at www.mightykindness.org and soon after hosted our first Earth Day Hootenanny in 2008 at Willow Park. After great response from the community, we added a Harvest Hootenanny. As the Hoots grew, we moved to the amazing Louisville Nature Center and now we have found our home at Waterfront Park's Brown-Forman Amphitheater!
The Mighty Kind Krewe is made up of a small group of musicians, students, teachers, community leaders and healers who volunteer their time because they believe in the possibility of a kinder world. We are a ragtag team of dreamers that do...and so do so many of you! We give thanks to Clifton UU Church for letting us be an outreach of the vision they share in our commonwealth. We give thanks to everyone who has played, taught, shared, danced, hugged, hooped, tabled, spoken orhelped at the Hoot! It has become a special space to meet and grow our compassionate community and ,now, Mighty Kindness celebrates our 10th Hoot! Thank you to our Kind Community that makes goodness grow mighty!
